We shared a truly special moment when the Cathedral girls basketball team came to sing Christmas carols with our residents. Hearing everyone sing along together filled the room with joy, warmth, and Christmas spirit—it was a heartfelt experience that meant so much to all of us!

The staff and residents are getting into the holiday spirit here at Talamore! Today was Red & White Day, and tomorrow we’ll celebrate Tree Topper Tuesday with festive bows, headbands, and necklaces. It’s always such a joy to join together and share in the holiday cheer!

We played a game of Pass the Present while Christmas music filled the room. When the music stopped, we each took a turn shaking our box and guessing what little surprise awaited inside. Everyone had their own small box to open, each holding a sweet little treat. It was such a joyful moment to share together—full of laughter, excitement, and the simple happiness that comes from being together during the season.

One of our final Christmas tree ornaments was an adorable little reindeer made from candy canes. Carefully placed on our tree, it felt like the perfect finishing touch. Our tree is so full of cute ornaments made by us, each one filled with love and holiday cheer.

The Calgary Community Church Elementary singers came in and blessed the residents with Christmas carols. They have no idea how much joy it brings just to see the little children. The smallest things truly mean so much!

Today we held a gift-wrapping activity where residents volunteered their time to help other residents wrap their Christmas presents. It was a simple but meaningful way to support one another and make the season a little easier for everyone. The room was filled with cooperation and kindness, showing the care and sense of community that truly defines our home during the holidays!

Our memory care residents had a wonderful time gathering in our Aurora Room to decorate Christmas cookies for the holidays. Residents were able to choose their favorite frosting colors from big tubs of icing and add a variety of sprinkles to create their own festive designs. A heartfelt thank you to Vicky and her amazing team from Home Instead for making this fun holiday activity possible.

Did you know it’s National Chocolate-Covered Everything Day? We always look forward to our morning coffee socials, and this one was extra special with chocolate-covered cherry flavored coffee and chocolate-covered donuts, all enjoyed with great conversation among friends.

We truly appreciate our volunteers who generously give their time and care. One of our volunteers comes in a few times each month to do residents’ nails, providing not only a helpful service but also extra love through meaningful conversation, smiles, and companionship!

The residents in our garden wing were busy creating and hanging another ornament on our beautiful tree today. They take such joy in decorating it together, proud of the beautiful display they’ve made!
